1. What drew you to a career in healthcare recruiting?
“What’s rewarding is the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. It’s not about what this can do for me, but about what I can do for others."
“My passion for meeting new people in a growing industry is what drew me. There is always something to learn and to be a part of.”
“The opportunity to work on an amazing team while making an impact in the healthcare community is why I do this.”
“As a medical professional in my past life, I experienced firsthand the effects of not having enough providers on site can cause. As a locum tenens recruiter, I get to fill needs, help reduce burnout, and increase the quality of patient care.”
“Knowing so many physicians are overworked and commuting more than they may really want to makes finding the perfect facility for their ideal work-life balance more rewarding.”
2. What is the most rewarding part of your job?
“While I play just a small role in the process, I like to think my individual contributions are helping identify high quality clinical care in areas that need it most. The ‘win’ is for the patients."
“Finding that perfect candidate for the perfect client at the perfect time!”
“What’s rewarding is when all three parties share the same mutual feeling. I love seeing our clients excited and happy about our candidate, and our providers excited about the hospital and community they will serve.”
“The most rewarding part of my job is going through the entire process and finding the perfect candidate. Helping them find a job that works for them and where they can provide healthcare to a community that needs it.”
“Helping the community get the resources they need is what’s most rewarding to me. I understand when I place a provider somewhere, they are being put in a position to assist people who were not getting the support they needed before.”
3. In your opinion, what qualities does a healthcare recruiter need to be successful?
“A healthcare recruiter must have a good work ethic, the ability to think outside the box, problem solve, and maintain a positive attitude.”
“When you believe in what you´re selling, it helps build confidence in what you do.”
“I think you must have perseverance to be successful. It can be difficult at times, but when you have the endurance and drive, it pays off.”
“Must have great communications skills, drive, the ability to multitask, and patience.”
“A recruiter must be resilient. We connect with so many people in different fields of medicine, life stages, and all different backgrounds. You never know what challenges the day may bring.”
“An optimistic attitude along with the desire to understand each provider’s ambitions goes a long way.”
4. What does your average day look like?
“Every day is different and presents new challenges. We must be able to adapt to the ever-changing healthcare business.”
“I try to start my day by following up with leads and potential candidates I was not able to reach the day before. I then check my online resources (job boards, emails, texts) and begin outgoing communication for targeted jobs. Once that is setup, I strategize the best plan to make calls for my focused jobs.”
”My average day consists of working with physicians to find them roles throughout the country that work best for their schedule and career.”
“My day starts with a big cup of coffee! I then go through any pending emails, texts, and action items that need my attention. After that, I plan out my day, send a text blast, and send emails to cover as much ground as possible. I will also make calls and finish any administrative work needed from accepted candidates.”
“Smiling, dialing, chin wiggling with colleagues, and data entry.”

“As long as you are motivated and willing to learn, you will do great.”
“Jump in with both feet! At the end of the day, you are doing a job that desperately needs to be done. Don’t ever feel like you are bothering someone or should not be calling them. Sometimes I call people 3 times back-to-back if I need to get them on the phone. You are doing important work. If you feel like you’re not, you’ll have trouble being perceived in the right light.”
